Spread the love

With the arrival of winter upon us. You may be wondering what this year’s up and coming trends are. What are the new shades of this season? Most important, what will look and make me feel great.
Like many of us suffering from the fall of the economy. You do not have to spend a fortune on new clothes this winter season. You can still look your best with these five basic fashion ideas;
- The Little Black Dress: It is a must for every woman. Black is the most flattering for any figure, from a size 4 to a size 14. The simplest black dress can be worn, to suit the occasion or the mood. Large pendants, and multiple strand necklaces are in this year. They look great layered on black. Gold and silver fashion jewelry are inexpensive and fun to wear. Try several bangle bracelets, hoop earrings and a matching brooch. Wide stretchy belts are also in. They look gorgeous in bronze and in red with matching shoes. Mix and match whatever you like when it comes to black, as long as it is not overdone and tasteful looking.
- The Swing Jacket: They were a big trend last year, and they’re back again this winter. A black or grey wool plaid looks great over dresses and jeans. The stand up collar, three quarter sleeves, and large buttons makes them a trendy fashion statement. The swing jackets are warm and comfy in any acrylic wool material. They are great for everything, from shopping to dinner. Black and neutral colors are best for matching with just about anything in your closet. They are fun and functional.
- Sheer Silk or Lace Blouse: If you opt for the sheer silk, with either a high neck or button down, long sheer sleeves and a form fitting camisole looks very sensual. If you are a larger woman you can still wear this style. Try it in black. Lace is definitely in this year. Sweetheart necklines (depending on your age), or a high Victorian style neck looks pretty and feminine on all women. I would only go for black or cream in the Lace blouse.
- Large Pendants: Like I mentioned in “The Little Black Dress”. Adorned large pendants on black strands, look stunning. You can find these so cheap, in just about any accessory store (I found a set with earrings in Marshalls for only $15.00). I get so many compliments on it. They sell inexpensive pendants, from faux rhinestones, jeweled colored stones, to Austrian crystals. They are a pretty addition to go with any outfit.
- The Shawl wrap: Another must have this season. In wool, acrylic or cashmere, a shawl wrap is one of the most versatile accessories you will be seeing winter. They are not bulky and can be worn so many different ways. They are wonderful to wear to a wedding, affair, or out to dinner; when you do not want to wear a long hulking coat. The shawl is great for shopping in malls this holiday season. You will not feel too warm and restrained. Throw on your shawl with a pair of jeans, a sweater and boots, now that is a fashion statement!
