Do not use the elevator anymore. Consider it this way, every time you are taking the elevator, you are adding money in your gym piggy bank account. Using the stairs is the easiest ways of staying healthy and fit. Every time you climb up a stair you are losing weight, you are burning some calories and you are strengthening your knees and calves. By using stairs you are not only staying fit but also you are saving money and electricity. 10 steps on the stairs burn at least 5 calories. Now you do the math and start using the stairs.

Also, just like you are saying to elevator, say no to cab or bus. Walk whenever it is possible. Instead of taking a cab and paying the fare, walk to office. Walking for 30minutesm, tops, is very necessary. Walking for 30 minutes at a proper speed and not strolling, will burn around 700-1000 calories a week.

One way to burning the extra calories is through dancing. Just hit on the iPod and break dance on your favorite song. Seriously, it is not funny. Dancing rigorously for 30 minutes will help in burning at least 50-100 calories, plus it will be fun. Also while you are sitting idle, like watching TV, you can try doing so squats.

Listen to your mommy. Mothers are always right. When she asks you to help her in some household chore, help her. You will be doing a big time favor for yourself. Household chores help in burning tons of calories which even some gym exercise cant. Rigorous working for an hour will burn 30-50 calories. Rather than offering money to some instructor,listen to your mother.

We know that flats are anytime good, but wear high heels once a week. Wearing high heels at least once a week will be a great toning exercise for your calves and butt. They also give you a better posture.

Still, planing on hitting the gym? If yes then try this last way- yoga! No school is better than old school. Lose weight through yoga or aerobics. Yoga not helps you in shedding some pounds but it improves your posture and breathing pattern. Using the gym to loose weight will only help you in that, but when it comes to yoga , it is a whole body exercise. In fact just an hour of yoga practice will keep you in shape.
